The tray is marked with the makers mark (the unicorn, for Gebrüder Kühn), 800, and the German Silver hallmarks (crescent and crown).

Gebrüder Kühn (1860-present) were well known late 19th century silversmiths located in the town of Schwabisch Gmünd, Baden-Württemberg Eastern Germany. The town had been famous since the 17th century for its gold and silver handcrafts.
