A beautiful WMF inkwell in Egyptian revival style, with Sphinx with lady semblance and  claws, emerging from rocks.

A beautiful finial which could be earlier. The inside porcelain cup is not the original.

It is marked I/O at back and inside the hinged lid.

There’s some wear, specially on the lid and on the side surfaces, and small scratches, but the sphinx and the rocks look great.
