Elegante decanter in cristallo e argento, Chester 1901-1910

A beautiful cut glass handled decanter in a conical shape, with fitted silver spout fully hallmarked with the Chester assay office marks for year that should be comprised between 1901 and 1910 (the date letter is not clear readable). The silversmith is Robert Pringle (see below for details).

Tasteful and elegant with its simple handle and plane silver spout, it is in very good condition, with no chips or cracks. The stopper fits perfectly. The glass is clear enough.

It has a diameter of 13 cm and is 25 cm tall (with the stopper)

Robert Pringle & Sons The business was established in 1835 by Robert Pringle (I) who had moved to London from Perth in 1820 and passed to his son Robert Pringle (II). The firm was re-styled as Robert Pringle & Son in 1882 and in 1899 as Robert Pringle & Sons. The firm was converted into a limited liability company in 1931 under the style Robert Pringle & Sons (London) Ltd and later in Robert Pringle (Engineers) Ltd (c. 1965)
