Joseph Elliot and Son Sheffield c1880 Venetian Pattern Tea Coffee Dozen Spoons with Sugar Tong & Sugar Spoon Boxed
A beautiful set of 12 tea/coffee silver plated spoons in a box with sugar tong and sugar spoon in the sought after Venetian Pattern.
The fourteen pieces, all by Joseph Elliot & Son, Sheffield, are in excellent condition, with no wear, and they look very little used. They are in the original condition. The box is in good order inside, with clean light blue and deep blue fabrics. Anyway the box is missing of the hinges, and is parted in two pieces, and can be easily restored.
Spoons are 12.5 cm each; Sugar Tong is 11.5 cm; Sugar Spoon is approx 11 cm; Box is 16 cm x 22 cm x 3.5 cm
A set like this, with all matching pieces, in the Venetian pattern, is very hard to find.
Venetian pattern is a beautiful elegant Victorian pattern, inspired to Italian Renaissance, and is usually very well made and finished. It was introduced in the mid nineteenth century and was registered 18th February, 1868.
