Delightful Nell Gwynne New Chelsea Bone China hand painted dessert set made for Hampton & Sons London
Vintage hand painted dessert set consisting of two 23,5 cm square plates and ten 15,5 cm round plates, made by Nell Gwynne New Chelsea, Staffs, for the well known Hampton & Sons company.
Established in 1830 in London by William Hampton, later being joined by his sons, George and William, the company traded until 1960. Their commissions included the furnishing of the Royal Yacht Britannia, the liners Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth, the Theatre Royal in Drury lane, and the palaces of the Nizam of Hyderabad and the Maharajah of Kashmir.
This stunning set has gold trim with floral garland in green, gold, pink and blue. It is in excellent condition, with no loss of gold, no chips or cracks.
