Victorian Silver Plate Morning Glory Embossed Beaker or Pot Holder with Blue Glass Liner c1880
A stunning nineteenth century silver plate pot holder embossed with morning glory plants and leaves with blue glass inside. The item is un-marked, and could be a mid-nineteenth century silver plate piece made in Sheffield.
The holder has a hinged lid embossed as the main body and a handle decorated in the middle with a rose, and four feet in the form of leaves petioles.
Maybe intended for sugar or as a condiment pot, it is anyway a delicious decorative and collectable item which can stay everywhere in your home.
The silver plate holder is in good condition, with some wear on the embossed silver plate surface and minor bending of the feet and on at the handle. The blue glass inside is in excellent condition.
It is 10 cm tall, has a diameter of approx 5.5 cm, and it is approx 10 cm wide with the handle.
Contenitore di Sheffield con fiori e foglie di convolvolo e con vetro azzurro all’interno. Non marcato. Realizzato probabilmente a Sheffield verso la metà del XIX secolo.
Presenta un manico, anch’esso sbalzato nella parte centrale e quattro piedini in forma di piccioli.
Si tratta di un oggetto altamente decorativo e da collezione.
Il supporto di Sheffield presenta qualche piegatura nei piedini e nel manico, il vetro all’interno è in ottime condizioni.
