Antique Victorian silver plated sardine dish, having a rectangular body with rounded corners, a cut-glass liner with dentate edges sitting in a tray which has pierced border and chased foliage, a lift-off lid with same decoration and a cast sardine fish finial. Made by Frederick Ewbank Leefe of London in 1895 (the cut glass liner bears the reg. number 252274 which refers that year).

The dimensions of this fine silver-plated sardine dish are: length 20 cm , width 18 cm, and height 8 cm. The dimension of the glass liner are: 13.5 cm x 11.5 cm x 5.5 cm.

Very good condition, no wear. There is a minor dent on the lid and a chiop on the dentate edge of the glass.

Scatola per sardine in Sheffield e cristallo, composta da un vassoio rettangolare con i bordi incisi e traforati, una vaschetta di vetro intagliato con i9l bordo dentellato ed un coperchio decorato con gli stessi motivi del vassoio e sormontato da un pomello a forma di sardina. Si tratta di un oggetto di epoca Vittoriana, realizzato a Londra da Frederick Ewbank Leefe nel 1895 (la vaschetta riporta il numero di registrazione 252274 riferibile a quell’anno)

Condizioni molto buone, argentatura in ottimo stato. Una piccola fitta è presente sul coperchio e la vaschetta ha una sbreccatura sulla dentellatura del bordo.
